Granting Wishes
Any child residing in Canada between the ages of three and seventeen who has been diagnosed with a high-risk, life threatening illness qualifies for a wish. This illness must be verified by the child’s treating physician.
The Children's Wish Foundation has never denied an eligible wish and with continued support they will never have to. Your generosity ensures the children and families supported by Children's Wish enjoy the magic of dreams come true.

It wasn’t until recently that they arrived at the correct diagnosis. Trevor has an IPEX-like syndrome. ( Immune Dysregulation, Polyendocrinopathy, Enteritis, X-linked). This rare syndrome results from abnormal regulation of the immune system causing significant complications to a number of organs. Treatment is intensive, and prognosis is poor. Trevor has always wanted to visit New Zealand. He also has a passion for outdoor sports. Therefore, it made sense for the Foundation to build a wish combining his two loves. In January, The Children’s Wish Foundation sent Trevor halfway across the world for a tour of his favourite foreign country, and to participate in a wide range of cultural activities. |

While at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, Stephen’s Dad Richard was introduced to Wendy, a hospital Social Worker, who told him about The Children’s Wish Foundation. After contact was made with the organization, Stephen easily identified his most heart-felt wish. You see, the family is full of musicians and Stephen is quite handy with a variety of instruments. His passion for making music is astounding. Given his desire to be in a band one day, it made sense that he pull together all the instruments and equipment necessary to build a rudimentary studio at home where he and his mates could practice and record. Thanks to help provided by AXE Music and the Children’s Wish Foundation, that’s exactly what he was able to do. |
